March 10 - April 10, 2016
Sakai City, Fukui, Japan
From March 10 to April 10, 2016 the exhibit was on display at the Fukui Children's Science Museum in Sakai City, Fukui.
In the framework of Light: Beyond the Bulb, one of IAU Cosmic Light cornerstones for the International Year of Light 2015, the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ) created a Japanese version of this exhibition.
Given the great interest in astronomy demonstrated by the Japanese audience, the Japanese version of Light: Beyond the Bulb celebrates through images the wonders of "light from the universe": from XRay, visible light, infrared, to radio waves. The chosen images come from Subaru Telescope, ALMA, and many other NAOJrelated projects.
The exhibition is composed of a set of nineteen panels plus one, highlighting IYL2015 and the importance of light for astronomy, that during 2015 toured Japan and will still be available for print and display during 2016.
The exhibition is free for download at the NAOJ website: http://prc.nao.ac.jp/fukyu/cosmic-light/iyl_panel.html for anyone that wishes to print it. And aiming to reach those that cannot afford to print; NAOJ has made an itinerant version available by lending it to anyone that wishes to exhibit it.
