The 11th “ASTROPARTY Baykal” 2015 was traditionally held on May 15 and 16 on the picturesque bank of the Danube River, Dolna Mitropoliya Municipality under the patronage of the Minister of Education and the Mayor of Dolna Mitropoliya Municipality, Mrs. Polya Tsonovska.
The program comprised of activities with students and teachers stimulating interest of Physics and Astronomy. For the seventh time it was included in the National Calendar of extracurricular activities of the Ministry of Education and Science for the academic year 2014/2015.
The main topic of Astroparty Baykal 2015 was “Let there be light” - in connection with the International Year of Light and Light-Based Technologies, announced by the UN.
Municipal Schools:
Municipal center for extracurricular activities joined the initiative with the assistance of the Mayor of Municipality Dolna Mitropolia, Mrs. Polya Tsonovska, with translation and printing of the exhibition panels measuring 65/65 cm - 15 pieces. The images represent the application of lighting technology, weather phenomena, objects from space and light pollution. It was also shown to the participants in the 11th Astroparty Baikal 15 and 16 of May.
Municipality Dolna Mitropolia of Bulgaria is the only one that presents similar initiative is included in the official program of UNESCO.
The exhibition was opened by the vice mayor of the municipality, Mr. Ceco Andreyski, which focuses on the importance of lighting technology on people's lives and their application and in honor of May 24 - Day of Slavic Writing and Culture. It is exhibited in the Town Hall and can be seen by the citizens and guests from 22.05. to 29.5.2015, after this until the end of the school year it will be shown in part by the municipal schools in October and in others, as well as schools of Pleven.
